Father's Day

I know, I know...it has been a while since I blogged! BAD! Well, Father's Day was good. Cade bought Daddy an Under Armour Golf shirt and socks. Daddy liked it alot! We went out to the house with Frank, Racheal, Delilah, Charlie and Jorden. We rode the 4 wheeler around the property. Cade kept wanting to go around and around on the 4 wheeler. He knows how to turn it on now. Here are some pics of that day.

Crazy Busy!!!!

We have been really busy lately...sorry for the delay in blogs! This past weekend we had our first weekend away as parents (kid free) and it was really fun! I was matron of honor in my best friends wedding. Pictures coming soon! The wedding was in Florida! It was a really beautiful wedding and Beth put a lot of time and effort into making everyone happy! The weekend before that we went to Houston for Keith's grandpa's 85th birthday. We took the 5th wheel and stayed at this really nice RV park in the middle of a shady neighborhood! So, it was kind of weird. But it was nice to see family and to see his grandpa! So, this weekend we are just going to stay put and relax!!! We took Cade to the flats about 3 weeks ago! It was alot of fun! We only stayed for about and hour and half, but he really enjoyed it. Cade is really starting to talk. He calls me ma ma for sure now. And we think he is starting to call Keith "Da". He likes to pick up a ball and say ball. We have also taught him a couple of sign language. He knows daddy, mommy, baby and ball! I am trying to read books to him, but he can't really sit still to read them with me. Kind of like Daddy!

Growing Up in the Workforce!

Ok...I have been working for Texas Workforce Commission going on 10 years now. Today, I just realized, I am getting OLDER! Since I have moved back downtown, I see familiar faces and new faces...the new faces are in their 20's!!!!! I just rode up in the elevator with 3 of them! I thought I was still the new generation of TWC? Well, I am wrong! There is one behind me! What happened? I used to be the 20 something running around this building...coming in with a hangover, sneaking people into park on Saturdays for tailgates, and having a blast! Now, I am a 30 something mommy...exhausted, but proud to be a mommy and work at TWC. I guess as I grow with TWC, this will keep happening. I am proud to say that I have worked at TWC 10 years now. Well almost. But not many people do that!

At my desk and I am about 20 pounds lighter now!!!! Just sayin

Look Ma, I can jump in the pool!

So, yesterday Cade and I went to the pool. He is starting to get really used to the water and he jumps in the kiddy part of the pool no problem. Maybe this isn't such a good idea! Because last night, he just ran and jumped in the big pool. I had to dive in and GET HIM! He went to the bottom! It was scary, but he took it like a champ! I think this kid thinks he is 6 years old already! I really do have to watch him 24/7 and keep my eyes peeled now!!!! Because he is running now and it is hard to catch him when he is doing the wrong thing!!!

Our house is really coming along! The rock work is done. I really like how the dry stack turned out. Attached is a picture!

"Ma Ma"

Cade is really starting to blab, I should say. But when he wants something, he says MA MA, MA MA! Really loud! But the funny thing is, he calls Keith MA MA too! So, we are working on teaching him the difference! So, it seems like, every night we go thru the same thing. He calls Keith Ma Ma, then we tell him, no, that is Da Da. I am Ma Ma! Then I say Ma Ma, Cade says Ma Ma, then I wave and say hi. Then we say Da Da, Cade says Da Da, then daddy waves and says hi. We do this over and over. He still hasn't gotten it, but hopefully soon he will get it.

On other milestones, we are almost done with formula..I know I know...he is almost 15 months and still on formula! BUT, we are down to about 3 ounces of formula and 5 ounces of milk. We had to go really slow with milk, because he has been on hypo allergenic formula for a year and milk was a whole new ball game to his little system. So, hopefully in the next week, we will be on MILK!!!! No more expensive formula! Daddy will be very happy!!! So will mommy!

Another thing we are working on is getting rid of that damn bottle! It is hard though...he is attached. I have tried to give him sippy cups of milk, but he won't drink it! I have tried to find a skinny sippy, kind of shaped like his bottle, but haven't come across one yet. He likes to hold his bottle with one hand and guzzle his 8 to 9 ounces in about 5 minutes! He really likes that milk!!!

He is growing like a weed!!! I was so worried when he was sick, but now he has totally made up for it! We need to buy him new pajamas...24 months!!!

If anyone has any advice, please comment! My ears are open...

Beth's Wedding Shower Details

What a Weekend!!!!

I had a very exciting weekend! I went to Illinois to celebrate my best friend, Beth, getting married! I hosted the shower with her sister Amy and it was a success and alot of fun! We had a bus pick us up at 2:45 to take a to a winery and then girls night in at our friend DeLene's house!!!! Then I saw my grandparents on Sunday! So, it was a busy weekend!!! Rock With Exterior Paint

Trying to choose our Exterior Rock

Keith and I have lots of decisions to make! It seems like we make a decision everyday! Well, now we have to come to agreement about our exterior rock. We went back and forth about the exterior paint. It is kind of an Olive Green color. Not sure how to explain it. I am attaching 3 rock samples. Which one would you choose? I have my favorite, I think. But just want to get other people's opinion!

Rainy Weekend

Hi! It was a rainy weekend, but we went to a our friends 2 year old birthday party! Cade had a great time! He is a little awnry dude, but so cute!!!! The theme was strawberry shortcake and it was so cute!!! I also got to run a couple of times and I went to Bodypump on Saturday morning! Of course there was a line out the door because the gym doesn't open until 8am and the class started at 8:15am. So everyone wants to get there early and get their spot and weights setup! There was this lady next to me that asked if this was my first time during the sqauts portion because I didn't have alot of weight on my bar! I said kindly to her, No, I only get to go about once every 2 weeks because I have a baby. She ignored me! How rude was it to ask me if this was my first time since the weight on my bar was so light! Oh well! I am excited! Next weekend I get to go to Illinois to celebrate my bestie getting married! I am so excited for this next chapter in her life and want her to have babies right away so I can love on them!!!! The picture is of my girls from back home about 15 years ago or so!!!

Building a House

So, we are also building a house! The roof is on and the windows are in!!! As I type, the air conditioner is being installed! Things are moving along!!! They have to, since our lease is up August 1st! We had a ruff start! It took us almost 6 months until we poured the slab, but now we are in catch up mode! I know we can do this! I can't wait to be in a house where Cade can play in the yard and run! I know it is sad, but the little balcony in our apartment just isn't cutting it! I don't know, I was just raised where I could run in the yard or neighborhood in my small town. I was able to just be a kid!!! I would like the same environment for Cade! Attached are some pictures. Struggling with updating this blog!!

You think I would have time since I work at a computer all day at work! But, I struggle with what to say! I feel like I am talking to nothing. Anyways, Cade is doing good. Has a little snotty nose and has woken up at 3am the last two night for some reason! We have done many activities lately such as swimming, parks and our daily strolls in the stroller! He is so funny and has such a fun personality! I HEART him!
I am also getting ready for my best friends bachloretty party! Lots of planning. It has been fun! I am scared to leave Cade for a weekend, but I think I can do it! It is only Friday to Monday. I know I need this mommy time away! I am so excited that Beth is getting married! It is going to be so much fun!

Ok....so, I wanted to start this blog a year ago.....BUT, I had a colicky baby and some post partem!! Now, that we are seeing the light I wanted to use this blog to spread news to my family and friends! Cade is a year old now! I can't believe it! A year old! Where did the time go? He is a happy active little guy! He brings a ray of light to Keith and I! Right now, we are living in an apartment that is about to drive us nuts! But we know that it is going to be worth it in the end! We are building our dream out in Dripping Springs! Hopefully done by August 2010. Well, I will use this blog to post pictures, rambling, rants and raves of just the three of us! I hope you enjoy!
